I'm finally back online after being MIA for the past 4 days !!!! Yepz....it has been tiring and fun and a whole lot of other stuff during my orientation week in vjc since sch re-openend on monday. Haha...have to say sorry to my close frens for not contacting them as often as i should for the past week and so im here to say thank everyone for ur concern and well wishes for my first week in jc :) ! Thanks so Much ! hehee...and now...here's a summary of my past 1st week of life as a jc-ian :P !
3rd jan
Went to sch on bus 31...the journey takes about 35 to 40 mins ( I've learnt the art of sleeping on the bus hehe ) and reached the sch concourse at about 7.25 am to face a huge group of students who were waiting to register themselves...the registration was smooth and efficient although many of us were pretty clueless at the beginning. Umm....i was the only Bedok North-ian there and my skirt was pretty outstanding becos of its maroon colour....so ppl stared and i stared back....and i realized tht majority of the students were from Dunman High, Victoria Boys School, Singapore Chinese Girls School, Tanjong Katong Girls and Anglican High (in short...all the top school smarties !) it was kinda lonely cos i was more or less left alone while the rest had huge grps of frens from primary and secondary schools...but it was only for a short while though... The theme of this year's orientation was "Vollywood 2005" which was a movies-based Hollywood with the H being reverted with a V for VJC . I was placed in the film group named Arrana, supposedly about jungle-themed movies (Tarzan is handsome Tarzan is Strong He's so cute and His hair is long! ...part of my group's cheer :P) yeah and we proceeded with the orientation games and introduction plus the choosing of subject combinations and the day ended at abt 6 for me . Came home utterly tired out with non-stop cheering and clapping and cheering and clapping again that after bathing and dinner i snuggled into bed at 10 !
4th, 5th and 6th Jan
yeah....i think i can lump these 3 days together as it will be ridiculously long to type everything out that happened i think !! well... so here goes !! we started off with a round of talks about CCA scoring system and the introduction to the board of teachers and directors of VJC of which i had been informed by my OGL -orientation grp leaders that their PE HOD is a very very strict and mad man who recently just had triplets (sounds weird...but the principal did mention he was productive in other areas as well... so huh..) and the highlight of the day was the Mass Dances !!!!!!!!!!! umm...to put it simply, mass dances are a like a college identity which all the students learn and dance at special occassions...throughout the year....there's like a total of 6 mass dances in vj and we were taught about 5 of them during the course of the 3 days !! I Lurvee them! Its madness when the whole college reacts to the sudden play of the music every now and then but it was tremendous fun !! its difficult to rmb the sequence of the steps but the seniors did them so well! we also learnt about a dozen vjc cheers man....i reached home with aching legs everyday....and on the last night of orientation, we had a "Voscars Nite" ala Oscars stlye where we put up a role play and watched the councillors dance !! we also had the CCA walkabout (i signed up for medical society and possibly ODAC or the council) and we met our seniors from the same class!! possibly the strangest ever possibility and maybe even never in my wildest dreams would i have ever thought tht i would have Mdm haliza's daughter as my senior from the 04 batch !!!!! i sure was shocked when she told me but heyy she's as cheerful as her mum and i think they both look a lot alike each other ! (it's a small world after all...// :D !)
7th jan
which is todae !!!! we had the yearly Sea Sports Regatta at ECP from 8 am to about 1.30pm ( vj is really near to the beach u noe !) and we played station games such as treasure hunt, tug of war and captain's ball....i even got buried by sand and pushed into the sea by my team mates !! ( sea water dunking is fun !) hahah...went for lunch at parkway and met loadsa bnss ppl there.... later we sat in front of the water feature playing cards in a big grp and i was red - sunburned form the hot shining ball of fire at east coast earlier in the day and even as i'm typing this - i can feel the pain from wrinkling my nose ! (ouch!) i think i have a really bad sunburn....aahhhhhhh!!!! haha i guess this is a best short summary i can gib abt my first week of jc life ! and in case ur wondering why i nebe mentioned anything abt handsome, good looking guys and so on and so forth.........here's a paragraph on it !!!!!! wahahahahaha (hee hee...some of u just know me too well i guess... :P )
right !
and now i have to clear out all the myths and facts and myths and facts that i have or rather we have been hearing all these while !
Myth 1 : VJC has alot of suai ge's
Ans : FACT ! i have nebe seen any school that has nearly one gd lookin dude in every class but i would say that Vj comes close ! there are guys who are model material in terms of looks and physique in vjc man! and the best thing abt tht? They are not a minority.....They are a majority.... my senior class has 3 !! 3 man !!! wooooo!!!! and my orientation grp has a gd lookin OGL too!! he taught me how to dance the "I Want You" danceee !!!!!
Myth 2 : VS boys are snobbish and arrogant
Ans : FALSE ! they are by far ....one of the most polite, outspoken and friendly guys i've ever mixed with....and they are super smart!!!! 8 out of 10 classes in VS offers triple science !! and there's a GEPO in my class (gifted education programme ! he's cute too ! :D)
Myth 3 : JC life is very strict and the ppl are nerdy !
Ans : FALSE ! the ppl in VJ get to wear ankle length socks, dangling earrings of all colours and size, let their hair down cos the classes are air-conditioned and even attend tutorials at will !!! yeah i think they are alot more liberal than most would assume :) ! and vjc-ians are NOT NERDS.....they are a million miles away from being labeled Nerds man.....they are hyper - so much more hyper than the students in bnss and they balance about 3 ccas every week and still display excellent results.......now, tell me...how can u ever say tht they are nerds?
Myth 4 : BGR is everywhere
Ans : FALSE ! suprisingly....my seniors all agreed that BGR is not very common in jc ....its not like wat we presummed all along it seems....ohh but i think i will wait and see...maybe my seniors were just trying tnot to "corrupt" me :P heeeee !
hmmm.....i suppose thts all ....if u guys have any other myths do tell me abt them and i will definitely check it out for u guys !! ^-^ okay. im tired....after typing this whole chunk of stuff out here....thank you for taking time to read all the way till the end which is here. Thanks !
I LURVEEEEE MASS DANCES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I *clap* I want *clapclap* I want you ! * clapclapclap*
